1. Purpose of This Policy
Hoggl is a community marketplace built on trust. This policy exists to protect buyers, sellers, and the integrity of the platform. By using Hoggl, you agree to follow these rules at all times. Breaches may result in removal of listings, suspension of your account, or a permanent ban. In serious cases, we may report matters to the relevant authorities.
2. Who Can Use Hoggl
Hoggl is open to UK residents aged 18 and over. You must use your own identity when creating an account. Creating multiple accounts, impersonating another person, or using a false identity is not permitted. Hoggl is a marketplace for children's items only — if you are unsure whether an item is appropriate, please contact us before listing.
3. What You May Sell
- Children's clothing, footwear, and accessories
- Toys, games, and educational materials
- Baby and nursery equipment
- Children's books and media
- Sports and outdoor equipment for children
- Other items genuinely intended for children's use
All items must be your own property and must be legal to sell in the United Kingdom.
4. Prohibited Items
Safety and legal
- Items subject to a product safety recall — check current recalls at gov.uk/product-safety-database
- Items that do not meet UK safety standards for children's products
- Car seats that have been involved in a road accident
- Cot mattresses that have been used by another child
- Helmets that have sustained an impact
- Counterfeit, replica, or otherwise inauthentic goods
- Any item that is illegal to sell under UK law
Inappropriate content
- Items containing violent, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate content for children
- Adult items of any kind
- Items not intended for children's use
Other prohibited items
- Food, consumables, or medications of any kind
- Digital goods, gift cards, or vouchers
- Services of any kind
- Items listed on behalf of a third party without their explicit consent
5. Listing Standards
- Photographs must be of the actual item being sold — stock images are not permitted
- Descriptions must be accurate and must disclose any defects, damage, or significant wear
- Prices must be stated clearly in pounds sterling
- You must not artificially inflate prices to manipulate fees or buyer protection
- Listings must not contain contact details, external links, or attempts to direct buyers off the platform
6. Prohibited Conduct
Transactions
- Completing or attempting to complete transactions outside of the Hoggl platform
- Offering or accepting payment by any method other than through the Hoggl checkout
- Artificially inflating transaction values
Communication
- Harassing, threatening, intimidating, or abusing other users
- Using offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language
- Sharing personal contact details in messages to conduct transactions off-platform
- Sending unsolicited messages or spam
Integrity
- Providing false or misleading information in listings, messages, or account details
- Creating fake transactions to generate positive feedback
- Reporting other users falsely or maliciously
Technical
- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or scrape the platform
- Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform
- Introducing malware, viruses, or other harmful code
7. Child Safety
The safety of children is our highest priority. Any content, communication, or behaviour that could put a child at risk is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the relevant authorities without notice.
8. Reporting Concerns
If you encounter a listing, message, or user you believe is in breach of this policy, please report it immediately at support@hoggl.co.uk. We take all reports seriously, will investigate promptly, and will not share your identity with the person you have reported.
9. Enforcement
Where we determine this policy has been breached, we may:
- Remove the offending listing
- Issue a warning to the user
- Temporarily suspend the user's account
- Permanently ban the user from the platform
- Withhold or reverse payments where fraud is suspected
- Report the matter to the police or other relevant authorities
Our decisions on enforcement are final. If you believe an action has been taken against you in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@hoggl.co.uk within 14 days.
