2. What Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

  • Your name and email address
  • Your delivery address and postcode
  • Profile information such as your display name
  • Listing information including item descriptions, photographs, and pricing
  • Messages sent between buyers and sellers through the app
  • Payment and identity information collected during seller onboarding via Stripe

Information collected automatically

  • Device type and operating system
  • App usage data such as pages viewed and actions taken
  • Your approximate location, where you have granted permission, to support local browsing features

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Create and manage your account
  • Enable buying and selling transactions between users
  • Process payments securely via Stripe
  • Arrange shipping and delivery via our carrier partner
  • Send transactional notifications such as order confirmations and dispatch updates
  • Investigate and resolve disputes between buyers and sellers
  • Enforce our Acceptable Use Policy and detect and prevent fraud
  • Comply with our legal obligations

We do not use your personal information for marketing purposes and we do not send marketing emails or messages.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the following third parties, and only to the extent necessary to provide our service.

Stripe

We use Stripe to process payments and manage seller accounts. Their privacy policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

Shippo and our carrier partner

We use Shippo to generate shipping labels. Your name and delivery address are shared with our carrier to fulfil orders. Shippo's privacy policy is at goshippo.com/privacy.

Firebase (Google)

Our app is built on Google Firebase, which provides our database, authentication, and notification infrastructure. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers. Where data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where required for legal or regulatory reasons. Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years in line with UK financial record-keeping requirements.

Hoggl is a platform for parents and guardians aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@hoggl.co.uk and we will delete it promptly.
